GWS coach Adam Kingsley says it is fingers crossed for midfielder Finn Callaghan who rolled his ankle late in the Giants’ loss to Sydney on Saturday.
Callaghan exited the game in the fourth quarter after grabbing for his right ankle which buckled as he attempted to launch for a mark.
Kingsley said: “I didn’t actually see the incident. It looked like he rolled his ankle.
“But I haven’t spoken to our medicos yet, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed.”
Callaghan was tagged by James Jordon throughout the one-sided contest, forcing Kingsley to get inventive with his role, finishing with 21 disposals.
“We tried him at half-back thinking that might make it a little bit easier for him against Jordon,” Kingsley added.
“We knew Jordon would come to him – he’s done that the last couple of times. I still think Finn had really good moments. He defended well.
“If you do a comparison, Jordon had six touches for the game, Finn had 21, and they played on each other the whole night.
“If I’ve got a player keeping his opponent to six touches a game, I’m probably pretty happy with them. So, I think Finn did a pretty good job.”
