Carlton will wait on scans for defender Nic Newman who suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday’s win over Gold Coast.
Newman exited the game, which was his 150th, early following an incident where he threw his leg at the ball to soccer it out of the air, left clutching his hamstring.
Carlton coach Josh Fraser said: “Hamstring. We’ll get more information in the next 24-48 hours, so we’ll know exactly where it sits there.”
He added: “Naturally you’d be disappointed. Milestone game, hamstring injury early – it’s part of footy unfortunately.
“He’s a great character, he’s got great support. We’ll get more information on that early in the week and see where that sits. But he’s been an important player for us.”
