Patrick Cripps has been offered a two-game suspension for rough conduct while Connor Rozee and Patrick Dangerfield were cleared of any major injury but it’s season over for Brodie Grundy.
UPDATES
The big news of the day was the AFL Match Review Officer offering Patrick Cripps (AF $809k SC $553k MID) a two-game ban. Cripps was charged with rough conduct for contact with Callum Ah Chee, which was deemed careless conduct, high impact and high contact. Carlton has until 11am AEST Tuesday to decide if it challenges the suspension.
Collingwood confirmed that Brodie Grundy (AF $802k SC $544k RUC) will miss the remainder of the 2022 season due to a stress fracture in his ankle which may positively impact Darcy Cameron’s (AF $671k SC $455k F/R) role.
Connor Rozee (AF $782k SC $540k M/F) was cleared of a serious knee injury. Port Adelaide update said: “The 22-year-old pulled up well and scans on Monday showed no significant structural damage.”
Power assistant coach Nathan Bassett said earlier in the day: “Connor Rozee should be fine to play this week. Connor got a scan and I think he’s OK.”
Patrick Dangerfield (AF $597k SC $399k MID) has also been cleared of injury after being a late out with calf tightness. Cats head of medical and conditioning services Harry Taylor said: “Pleasingly, scans have revealed no new injury. Patrick has completed running this morning and will be monitored throughout the week to assess his availability.”
The Western Bulldogs revealed Buku Khamis (AF $358k SC $239k DEF) has entered concussion protocols after copping a knock in the VFL. Dogs Head of Sports Medicine Chris Bell said: “He was removed from the game and will commence in our concussion protocols. We will monitor Buku into next week to determine if he is in line to return to playing.”
