Manchester City have ruled out midfielder Antoine Semenyo for two months after sustaining a knee injury in last weekend’s 3-2 win over Tottenham.
Semenyo picked up the injury in a brief cameo after coming off the bench in the 86th minute of the win over Spurs.
“After the scan we feel much better because it’s not as bad as we expected,” City boss Enzo Maresca told reporters.
“It could be eight weeks, so now the most important thing is for him to recover.”
Maresca also indicated Erling Haaland would be in the mix for their weekend fixture against Aston Villa amid injury concerns out of the Spurs game.
“He can be available,” Maresca said. “We have a session now and we’ll see.”
The Norwegian was since part of City’s midweek Champions League squad against AEK Athens but unused off the bench.
