Bailey Smith wasn’t mentioned in Geelong’s injury report on Tuesday despite fears earlier in the week about a new shoulder concern.
Nine News Melbourne reported that Smith was unable to complete training on Monday which was only a light session. He’ll be closely monitored throughout the week.
Luke Davies-Uniacke has been given the green light despite an injury scare last game. North’s injury update said: “Davies-Uniacke has been given a clean bill of health after he was helped from the ground in the closing seconds of Saturday’s loss to Kuwarna (Adelaide).
“Davies-Uniacke trained fully on Tuesday and is expected to be available for Saturday’s home game against Gold Coast at Marvel Stadium.”
Dayne Zorko appears set to return this week after being a late withdrawal with soreness, with Ty Gallop in the mix to return from concussion protocols.
The Lions update said: “Both players trained on Tuesday and will again train on Thursday as they put their hand up for selection, with midfielder Jarrod Berry also a test for this weekend.”
Tim English’s return to play remains unclear. The Western Bulldogs update said: “English remains in concussion protocols, with a decision around his availability against the Dees to be determined later in the week.”
The Dogs also revealed a stint of more than a month out for Bailey Williams. The Dogs said: “Williams suffered a moderate-grade hamstring strain against Carlton and is expected to miss at least the next five weeks of football.”
St Kilda said Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera is “projected to return in a fortnight” as originally declared, despite Ross Lyon’s confusing remarks.
Hawthorn’s Will Day could be an option in coming weeks, as he’s set to return via the VFL from a long-term shoulder injury.
Collingwood has declared Darcy Cameron available to play this round. Collingwood’s Head of High Performance Jarrod Wade said: “Cameron has returned to full training following an ankle injury in Round 9. He will be available for selection.”
Essendon’s Peter Wright will miss their Dreamtime at the ‘G game due to ligament damage in his knee, with a timeline to be determined, opening up a ruck spot.
Adelaide GM High Performance Ian McKeown has indicated Riley Thilthorpe will be available for selection after back soreness saw him miss last game.
Port said Josh Lai should be available this round. The update said: “Lai is expected to exit protocols on Wednesday and be available.”
GWS’s Harry Rowston is in the mix to return this week after an infection in his knee ruled him out last week.
Melbourne’s Caleb Windsor faces a test. Dees AFL High Performance Manager Selwyn Griffith said: “Unfortunately, Caleb was unable to get up for last weekend’s game. We’re still working diligently with Caleb to get him available for this week. We’ll determine his availability at the end of the week if he is able to successfully integrate into main training on Friday.”
