Archie Roberts vs Richmond
Roberts had a down week last round by our standards, but this matchup screams ceiling game. Could absolutely go nuclear against the Tigers and looks like one of the safest VC options on Friday night.
Zach Merrett vs Richmond
If I owned both Merrett and Roberts, I’d lean Roberts purely on recent form — but you can’t argue with Zerrett as a POD VC option. Massive ceiling in this matchup.
Luke Jackson vs St Kilda
He should dominate… but we said that last week too. Still think he bounces back into the 140+ range, although that 60-odd captain score last round leaves a few scars.
Christian Petracca vs North Melbourne
“Trac” has been slightly underwhelming over his last few however NM could be the tonic needed to get him back on track with a spike game. Slight risk on recent form but his ceiling is as high as any (except Grundy!) when he’s switched on, as we witnessed at the start of the season.
Noah Anderson vs North Melbourne
Would assume he cops the Finn O’Sullivan tag here. Anderson has been on an absolute heater, but I’d rather avoid the potential tag and back other premiums instead.
Tristan Xerri vs Gold Coast
Xerri has played Gold Coast six times for a high score of just 119. He looked way off last week and the history against Jarrod Witts doesn’t inspire confidence.
Harry Sheezel vs Gold Coast
Gold Coast generally don’t tag and Sheezel loves to accumulate. Could be a sneaky POD captain option if you want to avoid the obvious plays.
Bailey Smith vs Sydney
There’s a chance James Jordon goes to Baz, although I still don’t think that completely shuts him down. The bigger concern for me is the slight fitness cloud — enough reason to avoid the VC/C this week.
Max Holmes vs Sydney
Playing elite footy right now and would probably avoid the JJ tag if Baz cops it instead. A 130+ score definitely wouldn’t surprise.
Brodie Grundy vs Geelong
If you own him, you include him. Could we witness the first pkayer ever to duplicate the double-tonne score on back-to-back weeks?
Nick Daicos vs West Coast
Could get attention from Hough or Murdoch, but still feels like a classic Daicos bounce-back spot at the MCG. Gets his SC season back on track and I can easily see a 30+ disposal, 2-goal type game.
Darcy Cameron vs West Coast
Not highly owned, but there’s definitely appeal if you have him. Personally not one I’d be rolling the captaincy on.
Zak Butters vs Carlton
One of the standout captaincy options of the round. Will be an extremely popular C selection for good reason.
Clarry/Whitfield/Callaghan vs Brisbane
GWS have looked poor recently and now face the reigning premiers. Hard to captain any Giants player with confidence in this matchup.
Max Gawn vs Bulldogs
No Tim English. Max Heath looks to be fading out of the setup. Everything points towards a Max Gawn masterclass here — feels like a casual 150+ incoming. Locked in as my Round 11 captain.
Marcus Bontempelli
Scored a 182 when he played against Melbourne in 2024 (125 last year) , and whether he’s playing on 1 or 3 legs….. he’s a viable VC/C option.
Final Verdict
I’ll likely roll with one of Archie Roberts, Nick Daicos or Zak Butters as VC… then slap the captaincy straight on Max Gawn. Big Maxy coming up against a raw young ruckman, I’m all in.
