Jhye Richardson has ramped up his bid to return from a long-term shoulder injury with a 3-wicket haul from 10 overs for Fremantle in WA Premier Cricket on Saturday.
Richardson finished with 3-38 from his 10 as the Port Boys skittled Rockingham-Mandurah for 213, before chasing down the target with 20 balls to spare.
The Scorchers quick hasn’t played since January and only returned to competitive last weekend, bowling 8 overs and finishing with 0-30.
Richardson is unlikely to play WA’s next Sheffield Shield game against Queensland starting on Tuesday at the WACA Ground.
But he could return to red-ball cricket next week with the WA Second XI.
Ex-Scorchers and Thunder bat Sam Whiteman starred for Fremantle in that game, scoring 103* from 115 balls in the chase.
Elsewhere in WA Premier Cricket, uncontracted BBL veterans Jonathon Wells (102 from 118) and D’Arcy Short (5-59 and 52 from 55) both impressed.
Short has signed up with Lumbini Lions in the Nepal Premier League which runs from November 17 to December 13.
Cooper Connolly dominated for Scarborough, scoring 87 from 78 at 3, before taking 2-41 from 8 overs. Brody Couch made 62 from 46 and took 2-41 from 10.
Cameron Bancroft made 80* from 97 balls for Willetton, for whom Aaron Hardie took 2-23 from 7.5 after scoring 21 from 39.
Victoria’s Premier Cricket action was washed out, but in NSW it was Sixers bat Lachlan Shaw who impressed with 184 from 258 balls for Northern District.
In SA Premier Cricket, Renegades bat Jake Fraser-McGurk blasted 129 from 143 balls batting at 6 for West Torrens. Mackenzie Harvey got a golden duck in that game.
In Tassie, Gades recruit Caleb Jewell made 56 from 96 and Sixers bat Jordan Silk got a third-ball duck for Clarence. In Queensland, Strikers spinner Cam Boyce took 2-28 for Valley.
