Fremantle confirmed that Nat Fyfe will be ready to play in Round 3, despite being subbed out last weekend following a back complaint.

Dockers High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said: “Nat has just had more than a couple of big weeks, and it was a good chance for us to manage Nat – but he’ll be ready to go this week.”

Merriman also confirmed that ruckman Sean Darcy was closing in on a return from a knee issue, which may impact Luke Jackson’s role.

He said: “Sean has begun his on-field running program – all is going well so he is two-to-three weeks away.”

The Western Bulldogs confirmed that Nick Coffield will miss 12-14 weeks following a shoulder injury sustained on the weekend.

Dogs head of sports medicine Chris Bell said: “Nick will require a shoulder reconstruction surgery to repair the damage to his shoulder. This reconstruction will be completed tomorrow, and we will update his return to play plan in the coming months.”

Darcy Parish could return this weekend for Essendon after missing their first two games with a hamstring issue.

The Dons update said: “Despite being made medically available ahead of last week’s game, Parish took a cautious approach and will again look to get through this week’s main training session to prove his fitness.”

Jordan Ridley isn’t far away either following a pre-season quad injury. Essendon said: “Ridley is tracking well in his recovery from a pre-season quad injury, and is hopeful of being available to return for the Bombers’ round four Gather Round clash with Port Adelaide.”

Essendon also noted Andy McGrath (ankle) and Will Setterfield (knee) copped knocks against Sydney and were set to face tests to prove their fitness.

Brad Crouch is another player set to miss an extended period, with St Kilda revealing he sustained a knee injury playing in the VFL.

St Kilda’s injury update said: “Will be sidelined for more than a month after injuring his knee on Friday. (He) left the ground just before half-time in last week’s VFL game, with scans later showing he required arthroscopic surgery.”

Geelong confirmed Patrick Dangerfield will be out for a fortnight following his hamstring injury that saw him subbed late last game.

Geelong assistant football GM Brett Johnson said: “Patrick injured his hamstring late in the game on Friday night, it’s a low-grade hamstring injury. We expect Danger to only miss 2 weeks.”

Sydney revealed Taylor Adams could play this round. The Swans injury update said: Taylor is progressing well from his knee injury. He will recommence team training this week and will be a test to play this weekend.”

West Coast revealed Jai Culley could return to playing within the next fortnight following 12 months out with an ACL injury.

Eagles High Performance Manager Mat Inness said: “Jai, off his ACL last year, has been in full training for five or six weeks now. He’s a week or two away from returning to play hopefully.”

Richmond confirmed Jacob Hopper will miss 4 weeks following an arthroscope on his knee, while Carlton stated Sam Walsh (back) is only 2-3 weeks away.
