UPDATES
Andrew Tye backed in Sam Whiteman to hold his spot after a lean run at the top of the order, with pressure coming from new signing Marcus Harris. Tye said: “Whitey is an incredible player. We’ve seen that over the white ball and red ball formats for WA for many years now. We back him in 100% to get the score on the board and do a job for us. It’s not been far away for him, he’s showed great signs, his intent is always there. We 100% back him in to score a big one.”
On Marcus Harris, Tye said: “Harry is a great signing for us. It gives us a little bit of depth in our batting unit especially with Laurie Evans leaving after tomorrow night’s game. He’ll come in and do a job. He’s a Perth boy, he knows how to play in Perth conditions.”
On his 4fa last game, Andrew Tye added: “I got the shopping cart out at the end with the last couple of wickets. They got off to a bright start so it was nice to be able to be part of the bowling group that scrapped hard. I just got the rewards at the end.”
Tye also noted Matt Kelly had “been ready to play for 3-4 weeks now” after back-to-back calf injuries.
