Uncertainty remains about Adam Treloar and Brodie Grundy both playing in the AFL in Round 21, while Jacob Wehr has been ruled out due to a calf injury and there was good news for Travis Boak.
UPDATES
The Western Bulldogs are still yet to declare Adam Treloar (AF $787k SC $497k M/F) as a certain starter for next round as he battles a calf issue.
Dogs Head of Sports Medicine Chris Bell said: “We will again assess Adam as this week progresses and make a call on his availability towards the back end of the week.”
There’s also still no certainty on Brodie Grundy (AF $802k SC $544k RUC) returning to the AFL side, after playing in the VFL on the weekend following a long-term knee issue.
Collingwood HP manager Jarrod Wade said: “He’s got your typical bumps and bruises from his first game back (VFL), we’ll just assess those over the course of this week and see where that leads to on selection.”
West Coast rookie Jai Culley (AF $332k SC $161k M/F) is set to miss two games after the AFL Match Review Officer charged him with striking Noah Anderson. The AFL update said: “In summary, the player can accept a two-match suspension with an early plea.”
Travis Boak (AF $742k SC $509k MID) is underwent scans on a hand issue sustained on the weekend but seems to have the all-clear. Port assistant coach Chad Cornes said: “All I know is he’s available for selection this week.”
Zac Bailey (AF $506k SC $338k M/F) has been cleared of any serious injury after going to hospital during Sunday’s game. The Lions said: “He will be further assessed to determine his availability for Sunday’s match against Carlton at The Gabba.”
Jacob Wehr (AF $433k SC $311k DEF) will likely miss the remainder of the regular season after picking up an injury. The Giants said: “Wehr suffered a calf strain in the Sydney Derby that will sideline him for the next two to three weeks.”
