Port Adelaide midfield gun Zak Butters’ season isn’t over but the Club has confirmed he’ll miss at least 4 weeks with a syndesmosis injury.
Butters underwent scans on Sunday after he twisted his ankle awkwardly in a Max Hall tackle, leaving the ground immediately in the hands of medical staff.
The nature of the injury led to fears his season was over and that he’d played his last game for the Power.
The Club provided an update following scans on Sunday, which read: “Zak Butters has suffered a high-grade syndesmosis injury.”
“Scans on Sunday confirmed the ankle injury, with Butters to undergo surgery in the coming days.
“The midfielder’s timeline will become clearer following the repair, but he is expected to miss at least four weeks.”
In addition to Butters, the Power provided a few other injury updates.
The Club said: “Lachie Jones has been cleared of any serious internal injuries after a heavy knock to the ribs on Saturday, while Jack Lukosius experienced calf trouble during the game, caused by an existing baker’s cyst issue at the back of the knee.
“Both Jones and Lukosius will be assessed throughout the week.
“As confirmed on Saturday afternoon, Mitch Georgiades will miss this weekend’s game after entering concussion protocols.”
