Jack Sinclair vs Hawks
3RA of 123 — Sinclair has absolutely flourished with NAS unavailable. Not the worst VC option at all if your captain choices are limited this week.
Bazlenka / Holmes vs Carlton
I imagine their ownership will increase this week and plenty will VC one of these Geelong superstars. Massive game at the MCG against a rejuvenated Carlton outfit… both could dominate for 125+ with ease. Baz has the higher ceiling IMO.
Isaac Heeney vs Richmond
Absolute superstar goal-kicking mid coming up against what looks like a VFL-level midfield. Could genuinely shred them apart. I’m not a Grundy owner, so Heeney will be my VC with confidence.

Luke Jackson vs Lions
Not overly confident here… but never write the unicorn off 🦄
Wouldn’t be the worst VC option, but I’d be cautious slapping the straight C on him against a wounded and embarrassed Brisbane side.

Lachie Neale vs Fremantle
Brisbane should come into this one breathing fire after last week’s demolition at the hands of GWS. Expect a response led by Brownlow medallist Neale.

Bont vs Nick
This should be an absolute blockbuster featuring two of the best mids in the comp. Neither side is known for tagging, so I’d comfortably captain either. Gun to my head — Bont is the safer choice for me and will be my fallback captain.
Bailey Dale vs Collingwood
One of the hottest players in the competition right now… but still a risky captain option given how ugly the floor scores can get.
Max Gawn vs GWS
GWS essentially have no recognised ruck, and I’m not worried about the split with Max Heath. Melbourne narrowly lost last week and should come out desperate. Gawn could absolutely feast for a 140+.
(I am avoiding Kozzy — Bedford tag danger.)
Clayton Oliver vs GWS
Averaging 113 lately, which is solid without being truly elite. Personally not someone I’d trust with the captaincy, but Clarry fans may disagree.
Zach Merrett vs Eagles
Generally good without being great against West Coast. Hasn’t gone 135+ against them in two years. Add in the Eagles’ recent tagging efforts from Hough/Murdoch and I’m steering clear.
Archie Roberts vs Eagles
Role looked different last week. I own him and honestly… I’m not trusting it. Add in the tag risk and it’s a definite no from me.
Bailey Williams vs Essendon
Just no.

I’m confidently VC’ing Isaac Heeney to beast on Saturday against Richmond.
If that fails, the captaincy will go to Marcus Bontempelli on Saturday night in what should be a massive, finals-like blockbuster against Nick and his Pies.
