Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has provided an update on ruckman Tim English who’ll miss this week in concussion protocols.
English suffered the head knock in the Dogs’ narrow win over Port Adelaide a fortnight ago but hasn’t exited protocols for their upcoming clash with Melbourne on Sunday.
The Dogs coach indicated English was close, but they’d remain conservative given his history.
He was reluctant to pinpoint a return date but offered some rough timelines.
“Tim is probably another week away,” Beveridge told reporrters.
“We’re just being conservative with him. He’s unlikely to play.”
When pressed further on what English needed to do to be avialable, Beveridge said: “He’s pretty good. We’ve always been a cautious bunch when it comes to affairs of the cranium.
“We’re just making sure he’s going to be OK. All those cognitive tests the players do, we’ll follow through on those and tick those boxes.
“Hopefully he’s all clear. Only because Tim has got a little bit of history there.
“If he’s not next week, he should be the week after.”
