Brodie Grundy returned to action via the VFL for Collingwood and was impressive across just over three quarters with 11 disposals including five clearances, nine tackles and 21 hit-outs.

Grundy has been sidelined since a knee injury sustained on Anzac Day but appears likely to break back into the Pies’ AFL side soon, potentially next round, which will impact Darcy Cameron‘s role.

Kieren Briggs had 21 hit-outs with 17 disposals in an even ruck battle for GWS in their 38-point loss to Sydney in the VFL, putting on some pressure to come into support Braydon Preuss in the seniors.

Brisbane’s James Tunstill put his hand up for a recall, with doubts on Jarrod Berry, with 29 disposals including six clearances.

Tarryn Thomas returned after a month out for North Melbourne, gathering 26 disposals and may come into Draft considerations as a smokie if he regains his AFL spot late in the season.
