UPDATES
Adam Zampa ($171k BWL) will miss the Stars’ Round 6 game against the Hurricanes after copping a one-game ban from the BBL.
The BBL statement said: “Has been suspended for one KFC Big Bash League match after accepting a charge for an audible obscenity during his side’s match against the Sydney Thunder on December 29.”
Jake Ball ($125k BWL) is looming as a big inclusion for the Sydney Sixers this double game round, with Jason Holder ($169k BAT/BWL) having departed. Ball is a relative unknown in Australia but was the leading wicket-taker in the 2020 NatWest t20 Blast and explained his likely role.
“I pride myself on my death bowling… But I’ve seen the ball swinging in the first few overs here, so obviously I can swing the ball as well, so hopefully I can make an impact in the first few overs,” Ball said.
Sandeep Lamichhane ($138k BWL) has completed his mandatory two-week quarantine, will link up with the Hobart Hurricanes and is available now.
TOMORROW
We’ll learn the squads for Saturday’s double-header between the Hurricanes-Stars and the Heat-Sixers, while the Thunder-Renegades will play. We’ll likely also get some more certainty about the upcoming Perth leg of the BBL, with new border rules creating some uncertainty.
