However, he’s most proud of finishing 459th in EPL Fantasy, given there’s six million competing.
You might be asking why mention all those sports, when this forum is all about cricket and the BBL specifically. Well, the point is Lachlan has a formula which works, across all sports.
Finishing 23rd in SuperCoach in 2019-20 was an impressive feat, so with all that in mind Honeyball caught up with Lachlan ahead of BBL|10 to get his insights on what works for him.
HB: You’re the Fantasy sports master. For someone who wants to get to the top what’s the key to your philosophy you’d pass on?
Lachlan: I like to play the percentages. The recent Horse Racing SuperCoach I tried to get as many short-priced favourites in top races as possible. In AFL and BBL I try and get the top averaging players in my team. Although nailing a point of difference (POD) can be a great feeling, I tend to steer clear of them. I’m also one for finding and playing the loopholes. I’m excited by the fact that there is a chance of an emergency loophole in BBL this season
HB: Are you a sports nut across the board or is it just applying some basic principles?
