Outs: R.Abbott, J.Marsh, E.Phillips, D.Sheed (inj), J.Redden (inj), B.Ah Chee (inj), L.Jetta (inj), M.Hutchings (inj), T.Hickey

West Coast coach Adam Simpson confirmed six changes to his side for next round’s Thursday clash with St Kilda, including Nic Naitanui (AF $596k SC $594k RUCK) returning.

Simpson said: “Five of those are forced changes. Dom Sheed has a slight hammy, so he is unavailable.Ah Chee is not available, he has a finger injury. Redden, Hutchings, Jetta are out. And Hickey makes way for Naitanui.”

Dom Sheed’s (AF $623k SC $427k MID) absence with a hamstring injury comes as a surprise but all this opens the door for a debut for Hamish Brayshaw (AF $170k SC $102k MID).

Brayshaw was pick 39 in the 2019 AFL Rookie draft. He is a 187cm 22-year-old midfielder, brother of Angus and Andrew. Xavier O’Neill (AF $274k SC $178k MID) holds his spot for his fifth game.

Shannon Hurn (AF $541k SC $410k DEF) returns as well after a rest, along with Max King (AF $360k SC $317k FWD) and Tim Membrey (AF $449k SC $361k FWD) for St Kilda.

MARTIN CHANCE

Jack Martin (AF $544k SC $430k MID/FWD) hasn’t been ruled out of Carlton’s Round 17 clash with Adelaide on Sunday despite a calf issue.

Blues Director of High Performance Andrew Russell said: “He came off, he had some awareness: it certainly wasn’t high grade.

“We think he is probably going to be a test to play, the next couple of days will tell. Off a five-day break, it is going to be close but he is not out of the mix altogether.”

OTHERS

Kane Lambert (AF $545k SC $411k MID) will return for Richmond’s Round 17 match against Geelong on Friday night after a hip issue, which is likely to impact Thomson Dow’s (AF $235k SC $125k MID) selection.

Hardwick said: “Lambert will play. He trained well. It was just a management call with Kane, he’s had a hip complaint over a number of weeks.”

GWS have confirmed that Phil Davis‘ (AF $334k SC $303k DEF) season is over as he’s been unable to overcome a knee issue.

TOMORROW

John Worsfold, Chris Scott and Nathan Buckley will all speak to the media, while the teams for Friday’s Richmond-Geelong clash will be confirmed. Round 17 also gets underway with St Kilda-West Coast.
