The Melbourne Stars have recruited twin brothers Craig Overton and Jamie Overton for BBL|16, with the English duo officially signing with the club.
This will mark the first time twin brothers have played as teammates in the Big Bash, as the Stars bolster their fast-bowling stocks, and add some power-hitting to their batting line-up.
The signings follow the recruitment of top-order dasher Finn Allen from the Perth Scorchers.
“This announcement is an exciting one for our club on a number of levels,” Stars General Manager James Rosengarten said.
“It’s a unique story having twin brothers sign together, and one that we hope our fans are going to love.
“But more importantly, they both bring a really valuable set of skills to the club.

“Jamie and Craig are both genuinely quick bowlers and will no doubt trouble a lot of batters this summer.
“They’re also big hitters, so we’re ready for some fireworks at the end of the batting innings.
“We think this dual signing is going to set us up really well for success. Combining them both in the line-up with Peter Siddle’s speed will be worth getting to the ’G to watch.”
Jamie is no stranger to this competition, having played for the Adelaide Strikers in the last three tournaments.
Best known for his pace with the ball, the 32-year-old has represented England in 24 T20 matches, where he averages 18.30.
His ability to find the boundary with bat in hand will be equally as valuable for the Stars, having struck 17 sixes in his three BBL seasons, with a high score of 45* to his name.
Jamie has been in impressive form throughout 2026, with best bowling figures of 3/19 in the BBL and 4/18 in the IPL.
This summer will be Craig’s first in the BBL, with the fast bowler bringing 162 T20 matches of experience.
Craig has represented his country in seven ODIs and eight Test matches, including a Test debut at the Adelaide Oval in 2017.
He can find the rope with the bat as well, going at a strike rate of 250 for the Trent Rockets in The Hundred this season, and smashing a career-high 79* off just 30 balls for Somerset in the Vitality T20 Blast quarter-final in July.
Craig’s performances in 2026 have seen him named the Professional Cricketers’ Association’s Most Valuable Player for England’s domestic season.
Following the signing of Finn Allen last week, the Stars have now confirmed their three international players, with 14 of their 18 contract spots filled.
