Sydney ruckman Brodie Grundy will miss the Swans’ clash with Port Adelaide on Saturday for personal reasons.
Grundy had been named in Sydney’s 23 on Thursday, but on Friday the Swans confirmed a change.
Sydney announced young ruckman Will Green will come in for his AFL debut.
The Swans confirmed: “Green replaces ruck Brodie Grundy who will miss the match for personal reasons, after the birth of his first child during the week.”
Green is a 204cm ruckman, who went pick 16 in the 2023 AFL Draft, who had 41 hit-outs in the VFL last weekend.
Sydney coach Dean Cox said: “What the players love about you (Green) is your ability to compete, your mobility and your ability to play your role.
“Nothing different has to happen tomorrow, enjoy the day, the game and make sure you do what you need to do at the right time. That’s something you’ve done in the VFL so take real confidence doing it again tomorrow afternoon, well done.”
