Wayne Milera is set for a stint on the sidelines after picking up a new hamstring injury ruling him out of Adelaide’s Round 21 clash with Essendon on Sunday.
Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks had been asked about Milera’s status on Thursday morning ahead of training, following reports of a calf/soleus issue picked up in the loss to Collingwood.
Nicks had admitted there was some doubt about Milera’s calf but said he was “very confident” he’d play.
However, Milera was ruled out of their Round 21 game with a separate hamstring concern, sustained at Thursday training.
The dashing defender had missed 2 games in late June and early July (Rounds 16-17) with a hamstring injury too.
Adelaide Executive General Manager Football Adam Kelly said: “Unfortunately Wayne was not able to complete today’s session due to a hamstring injury, we will not know the extent of the injury until we see the results of a scan.”
