Nervous wait for Greene after quad injury concern

Toby Greene owners face a nervous wait to learn the extent of scans on a quad injury picked up in the GWS Giants loss to Essendon on Sunday.

Greene booted 2 goals before being benched in the third term, with his quad iced up. The forward didn’t return.

GWS coach Adam Kingsley said they’d need to further assess the injury but conceded he’d miss Saturday’s clash with city rivals Sydney.

“He lunged for a tackle and just felt his quad,” Kingsley told reporters.

“I don’t know any timelines on that at all, but we’re on a six-day break into the Swans so – a big match – and he won’t be available for that.”
