Geelong coach Chris Scott has indicated that star pair Bailey Smith and Tom Stewart are both looking likely to be available for Thursday night’s clash with Brisbane.
Smith missed Geelong’s last game prior to the bye with illness, while Stewart has been absent for 2 games due to concussion protocols.
Scott said Smith was set to return while was more reserved about Stewart, albeit basically declared him available having trained with the group on Monday.
“Yeah, we think so,” Scott told reporters on Monday.
“Bailey just had the flu, so it would be logical to think that he is OK.
“Tom has been training well, so all indications are good there.
“But again, I will just keep repeating myself when it comes to the injury stuff, I know I have to speak on it but we just wait until the medical staff give us clearance. We don’t even ask for a running commentary.
“I guess the exception to that would be that we have got a main session out there today, Tom is taking full part in that.
“We are not deaf, dumb and blind to it all, you can see what is going to happen, but they haven’t definitively told us that he is OK yet.”
