West Coast coach Andrew McQualter says Willem Duursma and Tom McCarthy are likely to return for the side’s upcoming clash away to Carlton on Saturday.
Duursma and McCarthy missed the Eagles’ game against North Melbourne prior to their bye due to calf and hamstring injuries respectively.
But their potential reutrns, along with the availability of Jack Graham following a shoulder injury, could lead to a selection squeeze, with the likes of Marcus Herbert and Tom Gross at risk.
On Duursma, McQualter told 7NewsPerth: “He was probably pretty close to playing (against North), we just didn’t want to take the risk with him.
“So, as long as he gets through training this week, which we think he will, he’ll be back in.”
On McCarthy, McQualter said: “He’s training well. He had a good period over the bye rehabbing that hamstring, so, again, as long as he gets through training this week, we’re really confident he’ll play this week, which is terrific for us.”
On Graham, McQualter added: “Jack was a little bit upset with me that I didn’t let him play (against North).
“So, he’s been frothing to play again, and it’s really exciting for our team. He’s really important to our midfield, and he’ll be ready to go, which is great.”
