Nick Daicos is a test to play for Collingwood in Gather Round after missing last game with a corked calf following a late fitness test during the warm-up.
The Pies injury update stated: “Daicos withdrew from Thursday’s game against Brisbane due to a corked calf.
“He has progressed well over the weekend and resumed training with the team. Daicos’ availability will be determined following tomorrow’s main training.”
Port Adelaide’s Todd Marshall is expected to be available but will need to be assessed through the week.
Port’s update said: “Marshall sustained a sprained ankle in the days leading into Round 3, but has recovered well and should train fully this week.”
Gold Coast has declared Christian Petracca (hamstring) will be a test for Gather Round, while Jake Rogers has entered concussion protocols and will miss this weekend.
“Jake reported symptoms post-match on Sunday evening and has entered concussion protocols,” Suns head physio Andrew Weller said.
West Coast’s Elliot Yeo (groin) will face a fitness test this week to play in Gather Round, while Milan Murdock is eyeing off a Round 6 return from injury.
Eagles High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said: “Milan has ticked every box so far and all going to plan will be available for selection in round six for the derby against Fremantle.”
“He has progressed well over the weekend and resumed training with the team. Daicos’ availability will be determined following tomorrow’s main training.”
The Western Bulldogs confirmed an MCL injury for Tim English and a tendon issue for Ed Richards, leaving the pair likely out for a stint on the sidelines.
The Dogs update said: “English has an MCL knee injury and will be assessed in coming days to determine a return to play plan. Richards has an issue with a tendon behind his knee and will also be assessed this week to establish a firmer timeline.”
Adelaide’s Rory Laird will be available for selection after a minor soleus strain. Crows General Manager High Performance Ian McKeown said: “Lairdy will be available for selection.”
Fremantle’s Hayden Young (hamstring) and Michael Frederick (ankle) remain unavailable. Freo Director of Performance Adam Beard said: “They are both progressing really well. We got them into three footy drills today, so their volume continues to increase, along with the specificity in the weight room. Performance Health is doing a good job there and pushing them forward.”
Brisbane declared Hugh McCluggage (calf) needs to pass a fitness test to prove he’s good to go. Hawthorn pair Karl Amon and Cam Mackenzie both will face fitness tests on their knee injuries. Richmond’s Josh Gibcus is also a test after requiring rest with soreness last week.
North Melbourne tagger Finn O’Sullivan may miss their Gather Round clash with Brisbane due to a fractured jaw.
North’s update said: “The young gun was expected to undergo surgery on Tuesday after suffering the injury during the club’s SuperClash win over Carlton on Good Friday. The club will have more information on O’Sullivan’s return date later in the week.”
