Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir admits Hayden Young could miss more than one game with his low-grade hamstring injury.
Young has been ruled out of Freo’s Round 2 clash with Melbourne due to the issue picked up in their Round 1 loss to Geelong.
“We haven’t put a timeline on it, but it’s low grade, so hopefully one or two,” Longmuir said on Thursday morning.
“The scan shows it’s minor and it’s a bit tricky, because functionally he’s good. He ran the other day, he did it early in the game and got through the game.
“It was a little bit tricky to assess and a little bit tricky to work out. But he’s going to miss at least one.”
Fremantle Executive General Manager of Football Joe Brierty provided an update earlier in the week, appearing reluctant to commit to a timeline too.
“With ongoing awareness early in the week, he was sent to scans which have revealed a hamstring strain,” Brierty said.
“While the strain is low-grade, given Hayden’s history, we will gather all the information and assess him functionally over the next week before setting his return to play timeline.”
