1. Jacob van Rooyen ( traded in by 13k coaches)

JVR started with a bang last week, kicking 3 goals but more importantly, 3 marks and 6 tackles with 9 disposals for 76 points in a tough matchup vs Sydney. The best rookie to bring in this week, with good matchups on the horizon to add to his appeal.

2. Will Day (traded in by 7.2k coaches)

Looks a completely different player this season. Back to back 90’s in the first two weeks, then went big last week with 128 points vs North Melbourne. Getting that midfield time, but also getting the ball on the outside as well. If you haven’t jumped on, you still have time, but this could be the final week before he gets away from you.

3. Tom Stewart (traded in by 5.3k coaches)

We all thought Tom Stewart was going to miss 4-6 weeks, but incredibly only missed the one game, and came straight back into the side and scored 126 points against Gold Coast. Has another great matchup this week against Hawthorn (potential tag?). You could wait a week, but he is at a cheap price due to that 14 he scored in round 1.

4. Josh Fahey (traded in by 2.7k coaches)

Went bananas in the VFL last weekend, recording 40 disposals and 10 marks for 153 points, with many people now expecting a debut to follow. If he is named for GWS this week, will be a popular downgrade target, and one for those who already own JVR or need a DEF/MID rookie.

5. Clayton Oliver (traded in by 2k coaches)

He comes at an expensive price of $1.04m, but that isn’t stopping coaches from grabbing the no.1 man in fantasy over the first 3 week. Also has a great run of fixtures coming up, a depleted West Coast this week, and one of the best captain options there is.

Other popular trade ins: Jack Bytel, Nick Daicos, Brodie Grundy, Kysaiah Pickett, Will Setterfield.

Popular Trade Outs

1. Charlie Constable (traded out by 9.1k coaches)

Was dropped by Gold Coast last week, but coaches either had other issues to deal with and or they had a Darcy Wilmot on the bench they could take. If not named by Gold Coast this week, which is likely, then he has to go.

2. Finn Callaghan (traded out by 6.4k coaches)

After an impressive 83 in Round 1, copped a heavy hit in Round 2 which was followed by a poor 48 last week means coaches are looking to move off. A breakeven of 48 (what he scored last week) so the time is probably right to move him in as part of a one down one up move.

3. James Worpel (traded out by 5.2k coaches)

Another who impressed in Round 1, but has fallen away a little since then. Had a 70%+ midfield role over the preseason and round one, but the last two weeks has had around the 50% CBA mark, which isn’t going to be enough for him to make the cash we need. Callaghan and Constable are more of a priority, but if you can move on Worpel, it isn’t a bad time to do so with a breakeven now at 51.

4. Darcy Cameron (traded out by 4.7k coaches)

The R2 position for some coaches has been a disaster to say the least. Some coaches moved from Xerri round one, to Max Gawn in round two, then Darcy Cameron in Round 3 (have mercy). Cameron has been ruled out for at least 6 weeks so it’s a must trade, with a lot of coaches moving to a Tim English is they can get to him, if not Rowan Marshall, Sean Darcy and Brodie Grundy are also options to consider.

5. Mattaes Phillipou (traded out by 3.6k coaches)

Could be a week or two too early, but coaches who need the cash are moving he Pou on. Hasn’t set the world on fire with an average of 45.3 across 3 games playing a more deep forward role.

Other popular trade outs: Andrew McGrath, Jason Horne-Francis, Brennan Cox, Dom Sheed, Bodhi Uwland.
