There’s bad news all round on Tuesday with the Tribunal upholding Patrick Cripps’ suspension while Carlton delivered a blow for George Hewett owners and Toby Greene was ruled out for the season.
UPDATES
The two-game suspension offered to Patrick Cripps (AF $809k SC $553 MID) has been upheld after Carlton’s challenge at the Tribunal tonight was unsuccessful.
Carlton was charged with Rough Conduct on Callum Ah Chee, which was classified as careless, high impact and high contact.
There’s more bad news coming out of Carlton with George Hewett (AF $766k SC $536k D/M) set to miss the remainder of the home-and-away season with his back issue.
Carlton said: “Club is continuing to work through building up his loads and will assess how he handles it. It is expected he will miss the remainder of the home-and-away season.”
GWS also clarified that Tim Taranto (AF $769k SC $473k M/F) will miss Round 22 due to concussion.
The club update said: “Taranto suffered a delayed concussion from the Sydney Derby and after reporting symptoms last Friday, was ruled out of the round 21 clash with Essendon. Given the late onset of symptoms, Taranto will also be unavailable for this week’s match as he recovers.”
Toby Greene (AF $588k SC $365k FWD) was ruled out for the rest of the season with a fractured thumb that requires surgery.
