UPDATES
Carlton coach Michael Voss revealed that George Hewett (AF $766k SC $536k D/M) is no certainty to return next round as he continues to battle back soreness.
Voss said: “He hasn’t got himself going. We’re probably still a wait on that one. No (certainty for Round 21). We’ve got to go through a few things next week to see what the next stage looks like. We’ll make a call towards the back-end of next week.”
Geelong coach Chris Scott rubbished any suggestion of injury for Patrick Dangerfield (AF $598k SC $425k MID). He said: “He was a bit stiff in the game last week. Apparently there were some rumours of some dire scan results but he’s fine.”
Mason Redman (AF $771k SC $553k DEF) was named in Essendon’s side but remains a test after internal bruising. Essendon coach Ben Rutten said: “He’ll still be a wait and see. He needs to train a bit today. He’s been cleared of anything more serious or structurally.”
Keidean Coleman (AF $657k SC $468k D/F) looks likely to return for Brisbane. Lions coach Chris Fagan said: “Unless something happens at the captain’s run tomorrow morning, (he) will come into the team.”
Collingwood confirmed that Brodie Grundy (AF $802k SC $544k RUC) will play VFL this weekend, meaning he is likely in contention to return to the AFL side in Round 21 which may negatively impact Darcy Cameron’s (AF $736k SC $488k F/R) role.
