Preuss misses out but Wehr holds, Melbourne confirms debutant, Zorko all clear, Fyfe finger worry

Braydon Preuss has missed the cut in the GWS Giants’ final 22, while Jacob Wehr has held his spot. Dayne Zorko was also given the all-clear at Brisbane and the Demons unveiled a debutant.
SUNDAY TEAMS
Key ins: Hall, Stephenson, A.Kennedy, Whitfield
Key outs: Bosenavulagi, B.McKay (inj), T.Thomas, Hill (ill), Brander, O’Halloran

Braydon Preuss (AF $683k SC $457k RUCK) has been left out of the GWS side to face North Melbourne on Sunday, but Jacob Wehr (AF $256k SC $123k DEF) has held his spot despite the return of Lachie Whitfield (AF $741k SC $423k D/M). Preuss has been named among the emergencies.
North elected to omit Tarryn Thomas (AF $496k SC $311k M/F) in a shock move, while there was no debut for Jackson Archer (AF $190k SC $117k DEF). Both are among their emergencies.
DEBUTANT ALERT
Melbourne confirmed early in the day that Daniel Turner (AF $190k SC $123k DEF) will debut on Queen’s Birthday. He was pick 22 in the 2021 Mid-Season Draft and is a 194cm key defender, who likely steps in for Steven May.
UPDATES
Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan dispelled any fears Dayne Zorko (AF $748k SC $464k D/M) wouldnβt line up after needing stitches to his hand last week. Fagan said: “Stitches donβt ever stop you from playing. He’ll be fine. It’s healed.”
Nat Fyfe (AF $709k SC $546k MID) is back but he’ll be playing with a finger issue. He told SEN: “My ring finger and little finger β I had (them) operated on in the off-season. They were fingers I’ve both dislocated over the past couple of years. And 15 minutes into the first quarter (in the WAFL last week), the ring finger just popped back out, dislocated, and pretty much undid all the surgery.”
