Freo had no injuries, while Collingwood lost Mason Cox (AF $349k SC $243k FWD) to a finger injury, meaning Darcy Cameron (AF $649k SC $449k FWD) was sole ruck, although coach Craig McRae offered no insight on the extent.
Hawthorn v Brisbane Lions
Will Day (AF $531k SC $388k DEF) was subbed out for the Hawks early, while Hugh McCluggage (AF $815k SC $573k MID) was subbed out with a hamstring injury. Neither coach was asked about them during their pressers.
GWS Giants v West Coast
Tim Taranto (AF $784k SC $465k M/F), Lachie Ash (AF $533k SC $339k D/M) and Brayden Preuss (AF $683k SC $457k RUCK) have all been withdrawn, the latter two due to illness, while Taranto has a back complaint.
On ill pair Ash and Preuss, stand-in GWS coach Mark McVeigh said: “We’d like to think (they’ll be available in Round 11), especially the guys who’ve had some illness. but a lot of guys put their hand up too today.”
On Stephen Coniglio (AF $686k SC $426k M/F), McVeigh added: “Our captain Coniglio went inside and had a great game for our football club. We were really impressed with that. He hasn’t had that opportunity a lot. Seeing him be able to make that transition as a forward, coming into the middle of the ground was exciting.”
Luke Shuey (AF $690k SC $455k MID) was subbed out with a back related issue, not hamstring, according to West Coast coach Adam Simpson.

Richmond v Essendon
Tom Lynch (AF $662k SC $575k FWD) was subbed out with a hamstring injury, while Kane Lambert (AF $651k SC $399k FWD) went off with a recurring hip issue. Tigers coach Damien Hardwick said: “Those boys won’t play next week. We’ll assess the damage and go from there.”
Matt Guelfi (AF $507k SC $318k M/F) was subbed out for the Bombers.
Adelaide v St Kilda
Josh Rachele (AF $435k SC $241k M/F) was subbed out late due to a corked hip. Crows coach Matthew Nicks said: “It was a pretty bad corkie which we’ll have a pretty close look at with Josh. These young guys coming have played limited footy the last couple of years. we’ve got to be mindful. At some point we were going to look to manage.”
North Melbourne v Melbourne
Melbourne lost Ed Langdon (AF $739k SC $453k MID) to a rib injury. Dees coach Simon Goodwin said: “I think when you send them off for scans, there’s a bit of a fear (of a break). But he was really sore, so we subbed him pretty quickly. Once we get all the information, we can assess it from there.”
Clayton Oliver (AF $913k SC $645k MID) had 40+ possessions and won praise from Goodwin who said: “He’s been an amazing player, and he continues to excel his game to new levels. Today, he was outstanding. His stuff around the footy was the best I’ve seen for a long, long time. He’s a really important player to us, and without Jack Viney and James Harmes in the team, I thought he really stepped up in that space.”
Curtis Taylor (AF $423k SC $231k M/F) was subbed off for North with sore ribs.

Western Bulldogs v Gold Coast
Dogs coach Luke Beveridge provided an update on Tim English (AF $837k SC $572k R/F) who has been out due to illness lately. He said: “I think Tim will be available (next week).”
Marcus Bontempelli (AF $801k SC $573k MID) won praise from Beveridge who said: “He wasn’t his most influential through the midfield. He had moments in the game he’d make more of usually. He was forward, but a bit freelance type role. It was a big captain’s last quarter.”
The Suns lost veteran defender Rory Thompson (AF $208k SC $123k DEF) to a knee injury, having recently returned from an ACL. Gold Coast coach Stuart Dew said: “Early stages, we won’t know (yet) but we can give information that we’re not fearing the worst. It’s obviously a knee injury.”
Jy Farrar (AF $407k SC $290k DEF) was concussed too.
Geelong v Port Adelaide
Patrick Dangerfield (AF $655k SC $452k MID) was subbed off late with calf tightness. Cats coach Chris Scott said: “By that stage the game was iced. He was a bit tight in his calf…. It’s hard to say. My hope is it was just precautionary.”
Rhys Stanley and Quinton Narkle were late outs for Geelong.
Carlton v Sydney
Josh Kennedy (AF $517k SC $397k MID) suffered a hamstring injury described as “bad” by coach John Longmire, who added that he’d likely face “quite a few weeks you’d imagine”. Kennedy was offered a one-game ban for a hit on Sam Docherty too.
