Max Gawn (AF $944k SC $669k RUCK) was reportedly sent for scans on a knee issue and admitted there was a concern when he appeared on Nova Radio.

Gawn said: “I hurt myself in the second quarter in a ruck contest with Paddy Ryder and then played out the game, so it’s not that bad, I managed to play out the game. I did sit forward a lot, Luke Jackson did a lot of the ruck work in the second half, but I think I’m OK.”

Luke Ryan (AF $646k SC $467k DEF) had an ankle issue in Fremantle’s win, but the Dockers have cleared him.

Freo Executive General Manager of Football Peter Bell said: “Both (Ryan and Alex Pearce) were able to play out the game and we’re expecting they’ll be available for Gold Coast.”

Marcus Bontempelli (AF $806k SC $578k MID) and Tim English (AF $837k SC $572k R/F) are both set to face tests to prove their fitness for the Western Bulldogs.

The Dogs said in their injury update: “Skipper Marcus Bontempelli, defender Alex Keath and ruckman Tim English will be tested during the week ahead of the Friday night clash against Collingwood. All three will need to complete a main session before being considered for selection.”

Patrick Cripps (AF $858k SC $580k MID) avoided any sanction for his tackle which left Lachlan Murphy sore and subsequently subbed off with a neck injury.

The AFL statement said: “It was the view of the Match Review Officer that Cripps’ actions did not constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.”
