UPDATES

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick offered an update Dustin Martin (AF $676k SC $503k M/F), admitting the club will give him time.

Hardwick said on AFL360: “He just needs some time to heal. Grief is like an injury. He’s just taking the time to do that. It’s going to take some time, we’re prepared to give him that.”

Willie Rioli (AF $358k SC $225k FWD) escaped sanction for his tackle that left Luke Davies-Uniacke concussed.

The AFL’s statement said: “The incident involving Rioli and Davies-Uniacke was assessed… It was the view of the Match Review Officer that Rioli’s actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances. No further action was taken.”

Bailey Smith (AF $781k SC $472k MID) has been cleared to return for the Western Bulldogs. Dogs Head of Sports Medicine Chris Bell said: “Bailey reported some hip soreness following the main training session and didn’t play on the weekend. Those symptoms are fully settled, and he trained today without any issue.”

More for Draft players, Rory Sloane (AF $715k SC $528k MID) was bullish about playing in Round 3 despite being subbed off with an adductor issue, while he indicated Rory Laird (AF $937k SC $632k MID) will return from a hand injury.
