Coulter-Nile ruled out for Stars, Qais and Rauf exit, Green returns, Husnain named
Nathan Coulter-Nile has been ruled out of Saturday’s game against the Adelaide Strikers, while Fawad Ahmed is playing with a fractured rib and the Perth Scorchers have lost two players to COVID-19.
The Melbourne Stars named a 16-man squad to Saturday’s early game against the Adelaide Strikers at Adelaide Oval.
Nathan Coulter-Nile ($134k BWL) has not travelled with the team and has been ruled out. The Stars update said: “Coulter-Nile will not travel with the team as he continues his recovery from a hamstring strain.”
Qais Ahmad ($148k BWL) and Haris Rauf ($154k BWL) are also out with Afghanistan ODI duty and a PSL recall, while Ahmed Daniyal ($63k BWL) and Syed Faridoun ($59k BWL) come into the squad.
FoxCricket also reported that Marcus Stoinis ($81k BAT/BWL) will play although the Stars have not confirmed anything publicly yet.
The Strikers were yet to confirm their squad at the time of writing, although Code Sports reported that Fawad Ahmed ($72k BWL) had revealed he’s playing with a fractured rib.

The Sydney Sixers confirmed a 15-man squad for Saturday night’s derby with the Sydney Thunder, with Jordan Silk ($83k BAT) and Steve O’Keefe ($139k BWL) both included after injuries. Justin Avendano ($47k BAT) is not on the list.
The Thunder named a wider 18-man with Chris Green ($128k BWL) returning after being a close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case.
Muhammad Hasnain ($168k BWL) was also named amid talk he would exit early for the PSL.

The Perth Scorchers will be without Matt Kelly ($158k BWL) and Cameron Bancroft ($85k BAT/WKP) for their final regular season game against the Brisbane Heat on Monday due to COVID-19.
The Scorchers update said: “Kelly has returned a positive PCR test result for COVID-19… Bancroft has also returned a positive PCR test result for COVID-19 since entering isolation on Tuesday.”
