TEAM NEWS

The Adelaide Strikers named a whole roster 18-man squad to play the Brisbane Heat on Thursday night, with Daniel Drew ($43k BAT) and Harry Conway ($89k BWL) added.

Drew has returned to the squad for Ryan Gibson ($64k BAT), with the Strikers confirming his hamstring injury is “medium-long term”.

The Heat confirmed their 15-man squad for the game, with Jack Wildermuth ($141k BAT/BWL) returning, along with Nathan McSweeney ($42k BAT/BWL), Matthew Kuhnemann ($80k BWL) and Cameron Gannon ($69k BWL).

Mitch Swepson ($163k BWL) drops out due to selection for the Boxing Day Test squad along with Tom Abell ($116k BAT) who, as Honeyball reported yesterday, will miss four weeks with a knee strain.

Wildermuth may return after a back issue but isn’t cleared to play yet. He said: “I’ve been battling my back a little bit & it came to a head about 10 days ago. It’s turned around really good. Hopefully I’m up for Thursday night but we’ll see how we go.”

All this may impact Liam Guthrie‘s ($76k BWL) selection, having been dropped last game.

Strikers: Siddle (c), Agar, Fawad Ahmed, Conway, Drew, Garton, Hunt, Johnson, Kelly, Rashid Khan, Nielsen, O’Connor, Renshaw, Scott, Short, Weatherald, Wells, Worrall

Heat: Peirson (c), Bartlett, Bazley, Bryant, Cooper, Duckett, Gannon, Guthrie, Heazlett, Kuhnemann, Lynn, McSweeney, Mujeeb, Steketee, Wildermuth
