Meredith named by Hurricanes after injury, Scorchers confirm squad, Sixers sign new spinner

Riley Meredith has been named for the first time this season after injury by the Hobart Hurricanes, while the Sydney Sixers have reinforced their bowling options with a new spinner.

The Perth Scorchers named a 16-man squad to play the Hobart Hurricanes on Monday night.

Nick Hobson ($42k BAT) and David Moody ($62k BWL) both come into the group, while the Canes made a surprise change with Riley Meredith ($134k BWL) included for the first time after a hamstring injury.

The Canes named a 16-man squad with Mitch Owen ($62k BAT/BWL) also added after a side strain, with Joel Paris ($99k BWL) and Scott Boland ($139k BWL) dropping out due to injury and a national call-up respectively.

After a few injuries, the Sydney Sixers announced the signing of spinner Todd Murphy ($42k BWL) who replaces injured Steve O’Keefe ($171k BWL) in the squad.

Sixers coach Greg Shipperd said: “Todd has been doing good things for a number of years through his teens and last season made his List A and First Class debuts for Victoria.”
