Qais Ahmed ($125k BWL) and Chris Jordan (pred $145k BWL) have been used sparingly by their sides and were both expensive  in their past games. Jordan has since arrived in Australia to play for the Sixers.

Max Bryant ($117k BAT) batted at 5 in this game and made 68 from 67 balls, offering up scope for a new middle-order BBL role. Alex Carey ($163k BAT/WKP) also made a century for SA in that game.

Ben McDermott ($163k WKP/BAT) made 133 from 140 balls on Friday night for Tasmania, while potential Renegades signing Sam Whiteman made 79 from 65 at the top of the WA order. Tim David ($113k BAT) took 2-25 and made 36* from 23 balls.

Matthew Gilkes ($62k BAT/WKP) opened for NSW and made 51 from 49 deliveries, while Jake Fraser-McGurk ($65k BAT) opened the batting for Victoria and smashed 45 from 33 balls. Tanveer Sangha took 4-21.

Sheffield Shield

Kurtis Patterson ($62k BAT) made a century for NSW, while Hayden Kerr ($62k BAT/BWL) managed 62* from 75 balls and three wickets in his Shield debut.

Heat spinner Matt Kuhnemann ($85k BWL) was Player of the Match for Queensland after eight wickets against SA. Whiteman scored 176 for WA, while Caleb Jewell ($62k BAT) was Player of the Match with scores of 102 and 60, and Jordan Silk ($130k BAT) scored two half-centuries.
