Lachlan Bramble (AF $170k SC $102k MID) will make his debut in the 22 as expected after Thursday’s announcement while Jai Newcombe (AF $208k SC $102k MID) holds his spot.

Tyler Brockman (AF $284k SC $172k M/F) is among the potential subs for Hawthorn, while mid-season draftee Sam Durham (AF $170k SC $102k D/M) could make his debut if he is the medical sub for Essendon.

There wasn’t a lot of news on Friday, but Port coach Ken Hinkley confirmed that Martin Frederick (AF $262k SC $172k DEF) will travel with the squad for Saturday’s game against Gold Coast.

However, Hinkley revealed Frederick will not be the sub, instead it’ll be Hamish Hartlett (AF $423k SC $326k DEF).

He also provided an update on Orazio Fantasia (AF $452k SC $286k D/F), who most will have traded out by now.

Hinkley said: “Fantasia is a chance for next week. He still has a bit to do and some boxes to tick, at this stage he is a chance for next week but more likely the week after.”

Carlton coach David Teague spoke to the media and said Will Setterfield (AF $496k SC $369k MID) was out with a “one-to-two-week” injury.

Essendon coach Ben Rutten also spoke to the media but wasn’t asked about the severity of Alec Waterman‘s (AF $256k SC $148k FWD) calf injury. Rutten did reveal he only expects Aaron Francis (AF $333k SC $282k DEF) to miss one game which may impact other relevant players.

Hawks coach Alastair Clarkson will speak to the media while there’s also three games to be played.
