Sydney coach John Longmire made a revelation during his Monday press conference, declaring that Chad Warner (AF $447k SC $300k M/F) may miss their upcoming game.

“[Warner] has just had a sore spot for a couple of weeks on his leg, so he may not play this week,” Longmire said. “He might be one of those younger boys that we’re conscious of shielding early, with Gulden and Campbell getting those workload issues.

“One of the things about playing younger players, it’s great and it’s fantastic, but you’ve still got to be mindful that they’re still growing, they’re still developing.”

Essendon’s Andrew McGrath (AF $607k SC $459k MID) is set to miss 10-12 weeks after it was confirmed today the young midfielder had sustained PCL injury in the clash with Richmond on Saturday night.

Bombers website said: “Scans have confirmed Essendon midfielder Andrew McGrath suffered a grade two posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injury in Saturday night’s loss to Richmond at Optus Stadium.”

The Saints have announced that two key players will be returning home for personal reasons. Seb Ross (AF $592k SC $431k MID) and Tim Membrey (AF $554k SC $412k FWD) will head back to Melbourne.

This could have a positive impact on the selection of Ryan Byrnes (AF $412k SC $251k MID) and Tom Highmore (AF $295k SC $186k DEF) who spent large parts of the clash against Sydney in the forward line.

The Saints have flown mid-season draftee Cooper Sharman (AF $170k SC $102k FWD) up to join the squad in Sydney, with a possible upcoming debut.

St Kilda also confirmed skipper Jarryn Geary (AF $386k SC $309k DEF) will be “sidelined for a period of time” due to his shoulder injury.

Toby Greene (AF $638k SC $463k FWD) could return this round for the GWS Giants, offering another forward option.

GWS Head of Medical Cullan Ball said: “Toby is tracking really well, with the bye giving us another week for his shoulder to recover. He’ll need to tick off all his contact work on Thursday but should he do so, he’ll be available for Sunday’s match.”

Port midfield coach Jarrad Schofield revealed that Zak Butters (AF $616k SC $501k FWD) had run (on Saturday) for the first time since knee surgery.

Ryan Burton (AF $468k SC $320k DEF) was also cleared after knee soreness to play in Round 13, which may impact Miles Bergman‘s (AF $392k SC $259k D/F) selection.

It was announced today that Dayne Zorko (AF $767k SC $603k M/F) would not be challenging his 1 match ban for striking Tom McDonald. He will miss the round 14 clash against North Melbourne.
