Hall cleared, Kelly sidelined, Nank blow opens CCJ door, Viney eyes return

Tim Kelly has been ruled out for a minimum of a month with a knee injury. Aaron Hall didn’t appear in the North Melbourne medical report despite hamstring concerns and Sam Berry will be forced to follow concussion protocols.

The West Coast Eagles’ midfield has taken another hit with star Tim Kelly (AF $656k SC $491k MID) being ruled out for a minimum of three weeks with a knee injury.

Eagles physiotherapist Mark Finucane said: “He’ll be in a brace for a few weeks. Hopefully it’s in that four-or-five-week range.”

West Coast have also extended Alex Witherden‘s (AF $650k SC $428k DEF) time out to 4-5 weeks. Finucane said: “We won’t rush that and just monitor his response to each of those progressions.”

North Melbourne have been given some good news with Jaidyn Stephenson (AF $591k SC $392k M/F) eyeing a return post bye.

The Kangaroos’ Footy GM Brady Rawlings said: “He’ll have a review with the specialist next week … there’s no guarantee at the moment but we’re really hopeful.”

Along with this, Aaron Hall (AF $751k SC $502k D/F) has not appeared in the injury update from the club.

Hall spent a large amount of time on the bench in the last quarter in the clash against the Saints. North declared it hamstring tightness before coming back onto the ground and running out the game.

Richmond revealed that Toby Nankervis (AF $628k SC $468k RUCK) will miss several games with a knee injury which may positively impact Callum Coleman-Jones‘s (AF $368k SC $161k F/R) selection and role.

Tigers Physical Performance Manager Peter Burge said: “We will have a better idea in the next week or two about his return to play, but at this stage, it is probably a medium-term injury.”

The Crows’ rookies Nick Murray (AF $216k SC $181k DEF) and Jordon Butts (AF $330k SC $307k DEF) have been given a job security boost with the setback of Daniel Talia (AF $351k SC $354k DEF).

The update on the club’s website said Talia: “has had a setback with his rehabilitation from surgery in April to remove a bone spur in his foot.”

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for young midfielder, Sam Berry (AF $319k SC $240 M/F) who will be forced to miss this weekends clash with the Magpies due to concussion protocols.

The Demons have updated the status of Jack Viney (AF $687k SC $500k MID).

Melbourne’s head physio Daniel James said: “We expect to see Jack (Viney) ready to play in 1-2 weeks.”

This may impact the selection of James Jordon (AF $553k SC $369k MID) as well as the role of James Harmes (AF $578k SC $424k D/M) who attended 88% of centre bounces last Friday night, the most of any Demon midfielder.

Fremantle have listed Matt Taberner (AF $498k SC $357k FWD) as a test with his ankle which may impact Josh Treacy‘s (AF $225k SC $123k F/R) selection/role.

Freo High Performance Manager Phil Merriman: “He’s a test to play and all things are pointing in the right direction with Tabs.”

The Bombers’ have announced that Will Snelling (AF $550k SC $385k FWD) will require surgery on an injured thumb.

This may impact the selection of Alec Waterman (AF $303k SC $179k FWD).

Tomorrow we will have all the latest from the midseason draft along with updated injury reports across the league.
