UPDATES

Brodie Grundy (AF $798k SC $627k RUCK) will miss 2-3 weeks due to a pinched nerve in his neck sustained in the clash against Geelong.

Collingwood High Performance Manager Kevin White said: “He’s recovering well. He’s having a specialist consult today. At this stage he’ll be a short-term out for next 2-3 weeks. We’ll go conservative with Brodie given the nature of the injury.”

Along with this, it was more bad news for the Magpies as Taylor Adams (AF $723k SC $470k MID) was also ruled out for 2-3 weeks. White also had his say on the Adams situation: “Tay had a minimal tear a lot lower down than that MCL. The next 2 weeks he’ll rest & we’ll build him back up again… We’ll probably see Tay after the bye round.”

The Power have also been hit with some injuries after their win over the Dockers. Orazio Fantasia (AF $452k SC $286k D/F) will miss up to a month with a knee issue.

Port Adelaide had an update on the situation: “[He] will miss Port Adelaide’s next game against Geelong after having a minor surgical procedure on his left knee… expected to be back within a month.”

Ryan Burton (AF $468k SC $320k DEF) was subbed in the match and could face some time on the sidelines as well. This could impact the selection of Miles Bergman (AF $392k SC $259k D/F) who came on as the sub.

The Sydney Swans will manage the ongoing issues to Isaac Heeney (AF $539k SC $398k FWD) and Tom Hickey (AF $545k SC $492k RUCK).

Swans coach John Longmire said Heeney should be all good to play, but flagged it is a weekly decision: “We expect him to back up & play. You manage him during the week. If he gets a bit sore, like a few weeks ago, he doesn’t play… We’ll manage him from week to week.”

Hickey has been given every chance to return for the Swans this weekend. Longmire said: “At this stage we think he’ll be right. He did some running on the weekend & pulled up pretty well. We’ll see how he goes at training on Thursday.”

Stefan Martin (AF $414k SC $284k RUCK) should be available for selection this week according to head of sports medicine Chris Bell who said: “He’s had a few really solid training sessions and will return to availability this week.”

This may impact the selection of Jordon Sweet (AF $349k SC $226k RUCK).

Riley Garcia (AF $170k SC $123k MID) will miss the clash against the Dockers this week due to concussion protocols.
