UPDATES
Good news for Andy Brayshaw (AF $724k SC $514k MID) owners worried about his calf injury.
Fremantle Executive football GM Peter Bell said: “Andrew had a really low-grade calf strain that unfortunately kept him out of the game against Sydney, we’re very optimistic that he’ll be available for Port Adelaide.”
The Western Bulldogs confirmed bad news for Adam Treloar (AF $692k SC $478k MID) who will miss six to eight weeks with a syndesmosis injury.
Dogs Head of Sports Medicine Chris Bell said: “We’ve decided the best way to manage this injury is to operate to stabilise the ligament.
“This will get him back playing sooner and avoid ongoing complications. We will confirm his timeframe to return to play following the surgery but expect him to miss the 6-8 weeks of footy.”
The Dogs also updated on Anthony Scott (AF $309k SC $281k M/F) who copped a head knock but not concussion on the weekend, stating he’ll be a test this round.
Pete Ladhams battled in the ruck for Port in Scott Lycett’s absence on the weekend but don’t expect Sam Hayes (AF $170k SC $123k RUCK) to get a chance just yet.
Port assistant coach Nathan Bassett said: “It doesn’t get much harder than Grundy. Pete (Ladhams) struggled early but fought back. We’d need to leave out a tall forward to bring in Hayesy. I don’t see us making any change at this stage.”
One ruckman who is close to getting a game is Braydon Preuss (AF $377k SC $303k RUCK) who listed as a test in the GWS Giants’ latest injury report.
The GWS update also noted that Tanner Bruhn (AF $223k SC $161k MID) had a sore groin playing in the VFL but is expected to be available for selection this week.
Sam Taylor (AF $462k SC $418k DEF) has been ruled out for approximately eight weeks with syndesmosis, which may open the door for Kieren Briggs (AF $182k SC $123k D/F).
