Unchanged Scorchers & Heat squads, Lynn hints Bartlett may not be X-factored

There were no surprises as the Perth Scorchers named an unchanged 16-man squad for Thursday’s Challenger final against the Brisbane Heat who also named an unchanged 18-man squad.

SQUAD NEWS

Jason Behrendorff spoke to the media and pumped up Josh Inglis ($169k WKP/BAT) for her middle-order role and glovework.

Behrendorff said: “He’s been adaptable. This year his role has changed slightly at four, he plays spin so well, he’s got great footwork. He’s been able to mould our middle order.”

Scorchers squad: Turner, Fawad Ahmed, Bancroft, Behrendorff, Hardie, Inglis, Kelly, Livingstone, Marsh, Munro, Paris, Patterson, Richardson, Rocchiccioli, Roy, Tye

Meanwhile, Chris Lynn ($184k BAT) spoke to the media about his own form struggles, which has made a few question whether to have him their side for Round 16.

Lynn said: “On my own performances I’ve been OK without being great. I haven’t really got a big score yet. I haven’t won the match with my own bat. I’ve left a lot of runs out there, I believe.”

A lot of coaches will also be looking at captaining Marnus Labuschagne ($250k BAT/BWL) this round.

“The way he’s injected himself into our line-up with energy and his skills with bat and ball,” Lynn said.

“Marnus is scoring runs with the bat which is giving him confidence with the ball.”

Lynn also hinted Xavier Bartlett ($88k BWL) may not necessarily get X-factored out after playing that role the past few games.

Lynn said: “I feel for the guy when you’re injected into the game for only one over… We talk about what does the team need from me right now. For X, that’s one over. He might stay for his full four overs tomorrow night.”

Heat squad: Bartlett, Bazley, Burns, Bryant, Cooper, Denly, Gregory, Heazlett, Kuhnemann, Labuschagne, Laughlin, Lynn, Morkel, Pfeffer, Peirson, Steketee, Swepson, Wildermuth
