VERY SICK DOG
Terrible news for James Sicily (AF $661k SC $597k DEF) and anyone who owns him in AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach as his season is over.

Hawthorn confirmed that Sicily had suffered an ACL injury against West Coast on Sunday.

Hawks Football GM Graham Wright said: “This is obviously devastating for Sis… He is a man of great resilience though and we have full faith he will be diligent in his recovery over the next 12 months.”

Sicily is owned by 11% of AFL Fantasy coaches and 26% of SuperCoach coaches, who’ll all need to find a suitable trade this week.

ENGLISH TEST
Dogs coach Luke Beveridge gave no guarantees that Tim English (AF $654k SC $507k RUCK) will overcome an ankle issue in time for next round.

Speaking on SEN, Beveridge said: “I did mention in the press conference post-game that he had expressed to me that he sensed he would be okay.

“That’s up in the air. There’s probably a chance Tim does miss this week.

“It’s a six-day break, if he’s not up to it come that last training session, we just need to rule a line (through him) and get him ready for possibly the following week.”

CAT OUT
The dream run of popular cheap option Sam Simpson (AF $421k SC $287k MID) is over as he’ll be out for “several weeks” with the hamstring injury he sustained on Friday against Port Adelaide.

Geelong Football GM Simon Lloyd said: “Sam had a hamstring strain. He’s already going through the rehab process.

“That’ll be several weeks… he’ll do the work required and get back in the coming weeks.”

Luke Dahlhaus (AF $504k SC $379k FWD) is also available for selection again which may impact Brad Close’s (AF $296k SC $197k MID/FWD) chances of a recall after being managed.

OTHERS
Cheap mid-forward Tom Hutchesson (AF $170K SC $117k MID/FWD) won’t add a second game following his debut on Thursday any time soon after suffering a hamstring injury late on.

GWS Head of Medical Cullan Ball said: “It’s a low-grade strain and we expect him to miss two to three weeks, depending on how he progresses early in his rehab.”

The Giants do expect Toby Greene (AF $652k SC $498k FWD) to return from a hamstring injury, so he may have replaced him anyway.

The return of Isaac Quaynor (AF $399k SC $315k DEF) may be sooner than expected but that totally depends on how his shin wound heals.

Pies Footy GM Geoff Walsh said: “I’d think all that stands between him and returning is the all-clear on the wound. In the next three-four-five days we’ll see how quickly we can get him back.”

Walsh also said Adam Treloar (AF $816k SC $569k MID) is three to four weeks away from playing again due to a hamstring injury.

Bachar Houli (AF $779k SC $528k DEF) won’t play on Monday but he’s in the mix to return next round. Tigers coach Damien Hardwick confirmed he’ll make the trip up to Darwin.

TOMORROW
Sydney coach John Longmire will speak to the press early on Tuesday, while we’ve got a few days without team announcements.
