Lions confirm debutant, Houli to return, Crows injury flags

Brisbane named yet another debutant on Monday afternoon, while there’s a few injury flags for Adelaide this week and Toby Greene has been ruled out for a few weeks for GWS.
CROW BLOW
Crows coach Matthew Nicks spoke on Monday before the club provided an injury update on Monday night which included info on Tom Doedee’s (AF $529k SC $433k DEF) hamstring.
Adelaide Head of Science and Medicine Steve Saunders said: “Tom’s had three or four good sessions on the track now. “All he really needs to do tomorrow is pass the remaining monitoring tests we’ll put him through, have a good session on the track and we think he’ll be right to play.”
The Crows also revealed defender Brodie Smith (AF $652k SC $406k DEF/MID*) had a minor knee issue to overcome.
Saunders said: “As a consequence of the knock, he’s had a low-grade injury to a ligament on the outside of the knee. He’s presenting really well.
“We’ll save tests on Brodie until the morning of game day itself. We expect him to be available, but obviously we won’t be taking any risks with Brodie Smith at all.”
Nicks also hinted at selection changes when he said: “We’ll be forced to make changes this week and we’ll be slightly younger again.”

OTHERS
Giants pair Toby Greene (AF $652k SC $498k FWD) and Matt de Boer (AF $402k SC $339k MID) have both been ruled out for a few games with hamstring injuries sustained in Sunday’s win over Gold Coast.
A GWS statement read: “Scans on Monday afternoon confirmed that the pair both suffered hamstring strains on Sunday and are likely to miss two to three games each.”
“The body’s great. I’ve pretty much trained as if I’m playing and that’s been the great thing about having five or six other boys stay back at help me train as well,” he said.
It might be worth having Bachar Houli (AF $779k SC $528k DEF) on your radar, as he’s targeting a Round 12 return.
Houli said: “The body’s great… When I’m called up to play, whenever that is, I’m ready to play and I won’t need two or three weeks to gain that physicality and getting used to games.”
TOMORROW
Chris Scott, Rhyce Shaw, John Longmire and Simon Goodwin will speak to the media, with the latter to be asked about Max Gawn’s injury rumours. Brisbane play Richmond and the teams for Wednesday’s Geelong-North and Adelaide-Melbourne games will be confirmed.
