Nicks ‘pretty confident’ on Milera availability despite calf worry

Wayne Milera is no guarantee to line up for Adelaide against Essendon on Sunday with the dashing defender battling a calf concern.

ABC Sport’s Aaron Bryans had reported the issue last weekend but the Club had insisted his availability wasn’t at risk.

However, Crows coach Matthew Nicks was asked about Milera on Thursday, revealing he has boxes to tick to prove his fitness to play the lowly Dons in the final fixture of the round.

“He’ll train today, and again, it’ll just be an assess afterwards,” Nicks said.

“We’re pretty confident, he’s really confident and he’s in a good space. We’ll know more after the session.

“Wayne’s I think (having) an All-Australian year, and he’s been challenged the last few months with a little bit of niggles here and there.

“But Hugo Hall-Kahan has come in and he’s added to that (run off half-back) as well.”
