Heeney vs Lions
Heeney is one of the top-tier elite midfielders in SuperCoach 2026, and this is a battle with the premiers. Expect a big showing against a Lions team hungry to keep winning. 130+ and a great VC option.
Grundy vs Lions
Grundy has been a rollercoaster this year, like most rucks. Fortunately, he plays the first game of the round, so you can throw the VC on him with confidence. With that in mind, he could score 80 or 180 🤷♂️
Hawks vs GWS
Pass for me.
Carlton vs WCE
Pass for me. If you must have a YOLO POD option, Cripps?
Nick Daicos vs Richmond
Lock it in now and make sure it stays that way.
Richmond have struggled to contain elite ball winners and Daicos has a huge ceiling. 160+ in a canter.
Jordan De Goey vs Richmond
If there’s a world where you own JDG and not Nick, he’s not the worst POD option. However, I feel there are enough good captaincy options this week that you don’t need to get too cute.
Butters vs Dawson
What a Showdown this could be. It should be a ripper to watch. I hope both of these warriors dominate and both go 140+.
Crows to win in a thriller, with Dawson bouncing back from last weekend with a BOG 140+.
Sheezel vs Essendon
If there’s a world where Nick fails, I love Sheezel as a captain option here. Genuine 150+ potential.
LDU vs Essendon
How can you trust a guy as volatile as LDU? Could go 150 easily, but could also stagnate on 80 again. Not for me.
Jackson vs Gold Coast
One of the hottest mid-rucks in the league and has to be in consideration. You’d think Moyle and Witts tag-team him in this one, but Jackson’s versatility makes him a VC/C option every week.
Freo should get the job done on the back of another monster performance from the Dockers star, who is firming in Brownlow markets. 140+ again.
Noah Anderson vs Fremantle
I hate what Anderson did to us earlier in the year, but he’s on an absolute heater.
Freo don’t tag, and he could rack it up to the tune of another 130+. Would be a brave choice, but it could pay off.
Final Verdict
I’d love to VC Heeney tomorrow, but the Lions are looking better and it’s being played in Brisbane.
Nick Daicos is the safest of high-ceiling VC for me.
If he goes sub-130, I’ll pivot to Sheezel or Jackson as my Round 16 captain.
