Round 7 Captain’s Corner: Rucks & Daicos top the picks + PODs

There are plenty of juicy matchups this week however the big 4 rucks and Nick Daicos feel like the standout captaincy options by a fair margin.

Rucks ready to dominate and realistically any of them could double tonne.

• Brodie Grundy vs Dogs — no Tim English = massive upside.
• Max Gawn vs Tigers — no Toby Nankervis… will be a demolition
• Luke Jackson vs a hapless Blues — no Marc Pittonet; huge ceiling whether he rucks or is in the midfield.
• Tristan Xerri vs Giants — fresh off a 3-week break and ready to absolutely roll against a weak Giants ruck combination.

Premium mids who should dominate

• Zach Merrett vs Pies — has been in rich form lately
• Nick Daicos vs Bombers — loves the big stage and none are bigger than ANZAC day
• Bailey Smith vs Port — absolutely red hot form and don’t see that stopping against Port.
• Max Holmes vs Port — new role = scoring machine.

Point of difference plays who are coming up against easier opponents

• Kysaiah Pickett vs Tigers
• Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera vs Eagles
• Jack Sinclair vs Eagles
• Harry Sheezel vs Giants

My move
Max Gawn VC
Nick Daicos/Luke Jackson C

I predict that Gawn sets the tone early on Friday night as VC and gives me no reason to require a captain.
