The Gold Coast Suns have confirmed Christian Petracca will be out for the “medium term” after scans revealed he has sustained a hamstring injury.
It has been reported by numerous outlets that the “medium term” timeline is going to be 4-6 weeks, although the Suns have not confirmed that.
It’s also assumed “short term” would mean a normal hamstring strain of 3 weeks.
Petracca left the field in the third quarter of the Suns’ win over Richmond on Saturday and underwent scans on Sunday.
“Christian received scans this morning and our team, alongside Christian, will now work through the optimal course of action,” Suns General Manager of Football Craig Cameron said.
The Suns have the Round 3 bye, before taking on Melbourne at the MCG in Round 4.
