Mitch Marsh’s BBL|15 availability just improved after he announced he’ll call time on his Sheffield Shield career at the end of the 2025-26 domestic summer.
Now 34, Marsh will sign off from Sheffield Shield cricket after 16 years at the WACA Ground as one of the state’s most popular players and destructive players.
Marsh had been linked with a Test recall at the “pointy end” of this Ashes series which would’ve impacted his BL availability with the Perth Scorchers.
But that now seems completely unlikely given his impending retirement from red-ball cricket.
The WACA press release stated: “The Australian white ball captain remains open to the prospect of playing Test cricket, and is poised to feature for Perth Scorchers when they open their KFC BBL|15 season against Sydney Sixers at Optus Stadium on Sunday.”
Marsh said: “Right now I am deeply committed to the group and the Scorchers. WA cricket has been a huge part of my life and I plan to give back in any way possible long into the future.”
