The Hobart Hurricanes are set to announce their replacement player for Bangladeshi leg-spinner Rishad Hossain, previously reported by Honeyball as Hassan Khan.
The Hurricanes will make the announcement on Monday, with Hossain unavailable to them due to national duty and Bangladesh Premier League commitments at the same time as the BBL.
Read Honeyball’s full story about Hassan Khan, who is set to provide them with an all-rounder option.
Meanwhile there was a full three-round fixtures of T20 fixtures in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League on Saturday with Riley Meredith, Charlie Wakim and Caleb Jewell among the stars.
Canes quick Meredith played 2 games for Clarence, taking 2-26 from 4 overs against Kingborough, before 1-30 from 4 against North Hobart.
Hurricanes recruit Wakim had a productive day, scoring 87 from 52 for Lindisfarne against SHSB and 13 against New Town, along with a 3fa. Wakim isn’t known for his part-time bowling at BBL level.
Jewell was dismissed cheaply for 3 for North Hobart against Clarence, before backing up with 91 from 60 balls against Kingborough.
Canes spinner Paddy Dooley also turned out for University of Tasmania, taking 2-33 against GN Raiders and 0-26 against Glenorchy.
Billy Stanlake took 1-16 from 4 overs with a maiden in his 1 game for GN Raiders.
The Hurricanes don’t have an early double, meaning they’re not overly relevant for SuperCoach BBL, but they could provide some cash generation.
